The mission of Feeding the Valley is to gather food to feed the hungry. The values we incorporate into our mission are compassion, good stewardship, dedication, urgency, and inclusiveness.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic effect on the citizens of Georgia and the Chattahoochee Valley, much as it has throughout our nation. Feeding the Valley (FTV) has seen a 53% increase in demand for our services since this crisis broke in March, 2020. We also know that 40% of the persons coming to our food distributions have never used our services before, the victims of layoffs and furloughs in this economic downturn. But with the support of our amazing community, FTV has met this increased demand and is now distributing over 15 million pounds of food annually. That is 12.5 million meals provided to our neighbors in need as they and their families try to make their way through this difficult time.
